Privacy Notice

David Saucedo, a sole proprietor doing business as Blockwise LA ("we", "us", "our"), is the data controller for personal data collected through this service. This notice describes what we collect, why, and your rights.

1. What we collect

  • Account data: email, display name, authentication provider (Google or email/password)
  • Usage data: pages viewed, buildings searched, features used, device type, IP address, timestamps
  • Saved data: buildings you save, alerts you configure
  • Support messages: anything you send us by email or in-app
  • Payment metadata: subscription plan, status, and billing period (we do not store card numbers — see §4)

2. Why we use it

  • Provide the Service and your account (contract performance)
  • Send you alerts you signed up for (contract performance)
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and secure the Service (legitimate interests)
  • Improve the product and understand usage (legitimate interests)
  • Respond to support requests (legitimate interests)
  • Comply with legal obligations (legal obligation)

3. Legal basis

We rely on the legal bases noted above under GDPR/UK GDPR. California residents: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Who we share with

  • Paddle.com — our Merchant of Record, which handles payments, subscription management, invoicing, and tax compliance. See Paddle's Privacy Notice.
  • Hosting & infrastructure providers — cloud services that run the app and database (encrypted in transit and at rest)
  • Google — if you sign in with Google (for authentication only)
  • Authorities — where required by valid legal process

5. Data retention

We retain account data while your account is active. When you delete your account we delete or anonymize personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. tax records held by Paddle).

6. Your rights

You may request to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Port your data to another service
  • Withdraw consent (where processing is consent-based)
  • Complain to a supervisory authority

7. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures — TLS in transit, encryption at rest, role-based access controls, and row-level database policies — to protect your data. No system is 100% secure.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies. Paddle's checkout may set its own cookies to process your payment.

9. International transfers

Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16.
